How much can AI help your workout?

You do the workout. AI offers guidance.

Choose a workout, adjust the weight, or get form feedback. These are different kinds of help—and not every gym offers all three.

Across the reviews, the clearest benefit is help choosing a session and keeping track. Missed form errors and imperfect weight suggestions also appeared. The evidence does not support treating AI as a complete replacement for a trainer.

Hands-on reports and manufacturer claims are distinguished below. Experiences can vary with software and setup.

Camera help + movable arms

AEKE S1 Pro · manufacturer product photo
Maker product/use image · check included items

AEKE S1 Pro

How does it help?A camera watches your moves. The screen suggests what to do.

Machine: $3,999

No monthly fee stated by AEKE.

What is the catch?Heavy and needs room. The camera can still miss mistakes.

Still to verify

The adjustable arms look useful on paper. Independent long-term S1 Pro testing has not been verified here; K1 reviews cannot establish Pro camera accuracy.

AEKE K1 · manufacturer product photo

AEKE K1

How does it help?Follow a large screen. A camera gives movement feedback.

Machine: $3,999

No monthly fee stated by AEKE.

What is the catch? The cables come from the floor. You cannot move the arms like S1 Pro.

From hands-on reviews

Reviewers liked seeing the instructor and their own movement together. Cybernews found missed form errors; Jungle Gym Reviews noted limited pulling angles.

Speediance Gym Monster 2

How does it help? With the paid AI plan, it chooses workouts and adjusts your plan as you improve.

Machine: $3,195

AI plan: $149.99 a year, or $19.99 a month.

What is the catch?A smaller screen. AI planning is different from a camera checking your posture.

From hands-on reviews

Tom’s Guide liked the range of exercises and guided sessions, but reported occasional freezing and missed sets. TechRadar also encountered setup friction with Wi-Fi.

Tonal 2 · manufacturer product photo

Tonal 2

How does it help?A camera gives form tips. It guides your workout on the screen.

First year: from $4,945.40

Includes the quoted machine, accessories, basic installation and 12 monthly fees. Then $59.95/month.

What is the catch?Must be fixed to a suitable wall. Monthly payments continue.

From hands-on reviews

Good Housekeeping found the controls approachable and appreciated automatic weight changes. The main trade-offs were the purchase cost, membership and wall requirements.

Speediance Gym Monster (original)

How does it help? The paid AI plan chooses workouts, even on this older machine.

Machine: $2,279

AI plan: $149.99 a year, or $19.99 a month.

What is the catch?Older hardware. It is not Gym Monster 2.

From hands-on reviews

Toby still uses the original for training. He found its motor fan noticeably louder than his newer 2S; that is a 2S comparison, not a direct GM2 test.

Speediance Gym Pal

How does it help? The paid phone app plans your workout. Pull the cables on the small floor unit.

Machine: $1,599 · sold out

AI plan: $149.99/year. Confirm it and stock before buying.

What is the catch? No big screen or tall arms. Not available when checked.

From hands-on reviews

Gear Patrol liked the smooth pulling feel and exercise variety. Its 2023 tester found the app busy, the control ring finicky and accessory storage less compact than expected.

amp AI Home Gym

How does it help?AI plans your workout and changes how hard the cable is to pull.

Machine + installation: $1,795

$36/month for at least 12 months. First year: $2,227.

What is the catch? One arm, up to 100 lb—less than AEKE. Uses your phone and needs wall installation.

From hands-on reviews

Healthline’s tester found short sessions easy to start and the app approachable. But suggested weights did not always match his strength. AI still needed his judgment.

The simplest choice

What costs more, what costs less, and exactly what you give up. Seven AI cable systems, with camera feedback and AI planning clearly distinguished.

Want camera guidance and flexible cable angles? Start with S1 Pro. Want similar cable training for less? Compare Gym Monster 2, then the original Gym Monster. Want a lower-cost AI cable system? Compare amp: it keeps AI planning and adaptive resistance but drops to 100 lb and a phone display. Gym Pal + Wellness+ is a lower listed-price reference, currently sold out. K1 is the large-screen choice, not an automatic budget choice.

Why amp costs less

amp keeps AI plans and automatic weight adjustment through its app. Its 100 lb ceiling and single arm differ from AEKE’s 220 lb system, and it uses your mobile device rather than a large integrated display. The current official offer is $1,795 with installation, plus a required $36/month for 12 months. Older $23 membership copy is not the current offer. For a used amp, check the official recall: MP2 units sold January–August 2025 need the specified repair before use.

Yes, AEKE has an Amazon brand store

The AEKE brand store and full S1 Pro machine were directly checked. The linked $3,999 S1 Pro listing is B0H8RGZVWM, sold by AEKE SPORT and shipped by Amazon. Another S1 Pro listing was $4,199; its package difference was not established. Do not treat every Pro listing as the same bundle. The official $3,999 offer names Complete Set + Bench B3; confirm Amazon inclusions separately.

AI guidance is not a personal trainer

Cybernews’ K1 reviewer reported missed form errors and interface lag; Jungle Gym Reviews noted limits from floor-level cable angles. Those observations concern K1, not S1 Pro. S1 Pro’s adjustable arms address a different geometry, but this comparison has not verified independent long-term S1 Pro camera accuracy. Manufacturer features are not our hands-on test results.

Subscription and space change the real cost

AEKE states no recurring subscription. Speediance offers optional paid Wellness+ alongside basic training; its checked page listed $19.99 monthly or $149.99 yearly, with inconsistent sold-out labels, so confirm enrollment terms. Tonal requires membership initially for 12 months. S1 Pro needs a suitable delivery route and exercise clearance; a folding footprint alone is not enough space to train.

Match the return policy to the seller

AEKE’s direct-store trial policy includes buyer-paid non-defect return shipping and an activation clause among its exclusions. Clarify trial-use eligibility before buying there. Amazon offers have their own seller and return terms; the direct-store policy does not automatically apply to them.

Three different meanings of AI

Camera feedback observes movement. AI planning chooses sessions and progression. Adaptive resistance changes the load while you train. A product can provide one without all three. Here every candidate is a cable-training system with manufacturer-documented AI guidance, either built in or through its paid app. Camera accuracy and paid feature availability are not assumed from an AI label.
